did my cpu fry my mobo?

i built a gaming pc about a week ago , everything was running fine and out of no where the pc shut down , i tried everything and no beeps or nothing, the thing is i remembered i couldnt update the motherboard bios , but i remember seeing the cpu temperature 90 celcius i knew it was hot but i didnt know it would affect it . i ran the pc for about a day and it just shut down and never turned back on , the psu is in working order too.
specs:
psu:shark 650w
hdd:750gb barracuda
motherboard: gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-H
cpu: amd a8-5500
ram: kingston hyper x 8gb 1600 mhz
 
Solution
The only sure way to test would be to acquire another APU and pop it onto the board. (or test yours on another board)
But I would suspect that if your chip was running at 90C it has most likely burnt out. They're not designed for such temperatures for such a length of time.
I would also recommend a cooling upgrade when you do replace the chip.

Unfortunately, I think you killed off your APU. You can either buy another to test, A4 4000 is about $35. Or, you can go ahead and RMA your APU if that is covered under the warrenty and buy a better CPU cooler. It sucks, but it's the sucky truth.
