what do you guys think?

I already have the storage drives, case and PSU with me

Prices of video card here in the Philippines

Zotac GTX 970 DUAL FAN = $313
ASUS GTX 970 STRIX = $393
Palit GTX 970 Jetstream = $324 (color and power port position turns me off)
Sapphire Nitro R9 390 = $338 (I need to buy a new 620W PSU for this, is it worth it?)

or should I drop to

Sapphire Nitro R9 380x = $275

recommendations are not assuming everybody is going to have a seasonic made power supply. seasonic and superflower are undoubtedly the best power supply makers on the planet. you have nothing to worry about.
a seasonic 520w is enough for the r9-390 and a locked i5. total system draw with prime95 and furmark loaded in a torture test would be roughly 400w total. you will still have headroom even with that unrealistic load.

otherwise everything looks good to me. if you can afford the 6600k that would be better in the long run. also if you do not intend on ever upgrading to an unlocked processor and you wont be running sli/cfx graphics cards you could probably save a bit of money by going with an h170 or even a b150 motherboard.

is this true? I already pm'ed Sapphire Customer Support and they told me that it's not going to work. also in PCPartPicker it said power draw will be around 104W-445W

yes. hehe, but I really like the All Black color of MSI Z170A G43 PLUS for my Black/White build. (also thinking about getting the ASUS Z170-A or MSI Z170AG43 SLI PLUS)

Oh!!!!!! I'll trust you with this one. :)
Thank you!

I'll get the Sapphire Nitro R9 390 instead!

it wont. power draw goes by the amps on the 12v rail. that seasonic is rated at 40 amps on the 12v rail. 40x12=480w. on stock bios and voltage an overclocked 390 will not draw anymore than 300w peak. the i5-6500 is rated as a 65w processor. thats 365w total and about 75% total load of the power supply which is right at the top of its efficieny sweet spot. you will be fine. you will never hit 365w peak unless you run some unrealistic torture test.

one thing though i do believe the nitro 390 requires two 8 pin power connectors so you may need to use an adapter if the card doesn't come with one. my 780 came with one that i had to use to convert a 6pin to a 6+2pin(8pin).

Seasonic S12ii 520w only have 1 6pin and 1 8pin

the Sapphire R9 390 needs 2x8 pin :( what should I do?

so I can buy a bitfenix adaptor 6pin to 6+2 pin? is that safe?
