Okay, so I just bought an Asus Xonar DX. I installed into my motherboard, but it came with a 4 pin floppy to molex, my PSU is a 1500w alienware supply, and only supports 6 pin pcie... I can't find any pci e to female molex cords ANYWHERE. What can I do??

This is the best soundcard for my needs, I was wondering could I use a female to female molex, then a male molex to pci-e?

PCIe power is only 12V, whereas molex/floppy is 12V and 5V, and most likely your sound card would only really want to be seeing the 5V line. your best bet is a SATA to Molex to Berg (floppy) set of adapters, or a pair of wire cutters.

it has to have more. PCIe is only 12V based, whereas all of your hard drives and SSDs are using 12V and 5V, so there IS a place that you can connect to - just might need a SATA Y-splitter plus a SATA-to-Floppy adapter.

stop thinking about PCIe. it doesn't have the 5V line that your card most likely needs, and nobody makes a converter in that direction anyways (unless it's a hack job) because it fundamentally doesn't make sense.

The power supply is modular, you should have a bunch of spare cables unless Dell only included those they needed for your specific build and kept the rest.

In that case, you may be stuck either having to buy the cables that should have been included with your PC at $20-30 a piece back from Dell or replacing the PSU with one that comes with all of its cables.

I can show you a picture, from what I see there aren't anything else besides PCI 6 pins..

um, does your computer not use ANY hard drives or SSDs??? heck, even a thin client needs some sort of local storage.

even if Dell kept all extra cables, there's GOT to be a hard drive somewhere and a power line you can split off of to get what you want.

I accidentally chose something to be the best solution, and I'm on mobile and don't know how to undo it so please ignore it. I have a 128 gig ssd and a 2tb hdd

i understand what you have now. you need to replace your psu. dell likes to make their alienware stuff somewhat proprietary and not able to be upgraded. they are a huge pain in the butt. i repair alienware machines occasionally. if all you have is a 6 pin male coming from the psu you need a new one. there are no female 6 pin pcie to female molex or male 4 pin floppy connectors.

I have no idea what this means, my case has two different compartments. One where you could see the motherboard, the other where you could see only the hdds. Please search the alienware area 51 r2 to see the full case.
