svchost.exe huge CPU Usage

Open up a command prompt window (as an admin) and type this >

>
sfc /scannow
<

A percentage will display, once it has finished (gotton to 100%) tell me what it says here. Also restart the PC after and see if the issue is resolved.

Did this suddenly happen also? Like for instance, one day it just started hogging everything?

thanks,

It started a couple of days ago, my PC was running unusually slow, so I checked the proceses and noticed the huge usage. I don't remember installing anything new lately, I have no idea where this came from.

Ran the scan, it says:
Windows Recourse Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.

The CBS.log file is pretty big, do I need to upload it?

Problem still stands.

Ok, an update. I've been researching the services under the huge resourse eating svchost. I saw a windows update service and shut it down. It instantly went down to normal.

Also, if "sfc /scannow" didn't work. Try running if from Safe Mode. If it still can't fix the corrupt files, you might be able to replace them by running the command "Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth". This will look online for the non-corrupt versions of the files that are corrupt, and replace them.

Keep in mind, this process may take some time, don't worry if it looks like it's stuck on a certain percentage.
