Can't clone HD to my new Samsung EVO SSD

I purchased a new Samsung EVO 500GB SSD. I also bought a Orico enclosure. I have a brand new Asus laptop with Win 10. It has a 1TB hard drive that is partitioned into 2 parts (one for OS, one for data). When I try to clone my HD to my SSD with Macrium, it fails 3 seconds after I begin the cloning process. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I scanned for file system errors on the drive but no errors came up.

Only thing I can think of is that the SSD is SATA III, but the Orico enclosure only technically says it supports SATA I and II. But if that was the case, I don't think I'd be able to read and format the drive.

Here's screenshots and the error log.

I spent a whole week setting up the computer to my liking. Reallllly don't want to reformat my HD.

Any ideas?

Hey there, kingtosh82. Welcome to the community!

Congrats on the new laptop. :)
So I assume you've connected the SSD via the above mentioned enclosure? If this is the case, make sure that you have its driver up to data, or try reinstalling it. You could also try a different drive with the enclosure (if you have that option), to see if the same thing happens again. You could also contact the cloning program developer's customer support and ask for assistance on how to deal with this issue.
Another option would be to follow this tutorial on how to migrate your OS to an SSD: http://lifehacker.com/5837543/how-to-migrate-to-a-solid-state-drive-without-reinstalling-windows.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how everything goes.

Just to let everyone know, I managed to fix my problem. I ended up downloading the latest version of Samsung's software to clone the HD to the SSD. Worked flawlessly. I was worried it wasn't going to copy the small, hidden Recovery partitions on my C:/, but it did.

Thanks to everyone for their help and suggestions!
