Hey Guys This Is my first post on this site

Im looking into upgrading my processor from the Intel Q8200 2.33ghz to the Amd Fx 8320 3.5 ghz...........BUT for me to do this i have to replace the motherboard...

I know that the windows copy is connected to the motherboard i will probably have to end up buying it

I only have enough money to buy the processor and new motherboard currently
so if i have to buy windows i'm going to be delayed for some months thanks for me being 16 and not able to work a job or make a income of some sorts i been saving up for a while to upgrade but it seems like their is always another problem stopping me.

So does anyone know a magical way to get windows Free or cheaper?..

Im currently on windows 10 64bit Thanks Guys

YOu actually have a few options, and the fact that you ask, probably means that your heart is in the right place - maybe you just worded the question badly. despite the moderator wrath heaped on you, I will suggest a few options.

1. As has been observed, you can run Linux - Linux Mint with the Cinnamon Desktop is remarkably close to Windows. Of course, if you game, that's not so good, since there aren't many games running on Linux - but check out the Steam Linux games inventory - it is growing all the time.

2. If you are 16, you probably are in school. Microsoft offers educational discounts to students - that may help you get the price of a legitimate copy of Windows within your reach. Google around on the MS website to see how it...

Tom's Hardware does not support any form of software piracy. None. Period.

To use Windows, you must pay for an appropriate license. Beyond trial versions, there is no legal, free version of Windows. To even ask is a violation of site rules.

Save some money and do this right from the beginning. Taking shortcuts to get a non-legit install is a good way to introduce malware/viruses/identify theft into your life.

First why can't a 16 year old have a job? I started working at 13... That notwithstanding commiting theft is a way to ensure you'll never hold a good job. Just save your money and do it right... Might as well see what zen from amd does for them while you're saving up. Also for the price of an 8320 and board you can get an i5 and cheap board and outperform the amd CPU by a wide margin for the same money or even less if you plan to oc the 83xx processor

3. There are a few legitimate discount resellers of older (maybe Windows 7?) versions. I have not recently looked. Make sure that they sell you an original, legitimate version. Even Newegg sometimes runs promos that have Windows at $15-$20 off MSRP.

4. You can buy an OEM copy of Windows. To do this, often you have to buy a piece of hardware (like the motherboard you are planning to buy).

Good luck!

If it was Retail license copy of Windows and not OEM, you can install on another system using same registration. Can't use it on old one any more though. In some countries like Germany MS has to let you install even if OEM.
Another option is to use W10 Enterprise which you can use free for 90 days for evaluation, that may give you enough time to collect money for $100 Home version.

If you're from the UK you can get Windows 7 from SoftwareGeeks for a very affordable / cheap price. You can get Win7 Prem 64bit or Win7 Pro 64bit for only £19.95.

They will send you an e-mail if you buy from them with the license key (which is legitimate, they are a registered company within the UK) and download links for the operating system (which are also legit) and how to burn onto a disc or put onto a USB to boot into the windows installation via the USB.

When you think about how much money you save from buying from Amazon for example, you save a lot. (The sale is on upto 24th Dec 2015).

Windows 10 Home should be around $180 which isnt that much at all. If you cant buy it yourself then ask your parents to buy it or as suggested give a try to one of the linux distros
You can certainly download and try out Ubuntu
