PC won't recognize HDD in Disk Management or BIOS.

Hi everyone. I replaced my PSU because my old one was faulty. But now my computer won't recognize my HDD. This HDD has data on it and was working correctly before I changed my PSU. My PC does however connect with my SSD. These are the steps I have taken:

1. Changed the SATA power cable and mobo cable. Connected it to different slots on mobo including the slot the SSD functions in.( No luck).

2. Tried two other HDD (including a brand new one) and those aren't being recognized either!

Does anyone know why my computer can recognize the SSD and not any HDDs? And how would I go about fixing this? Thank you.

Solution
If you have a cd/dvd drive and that works, try using the power cable from that with the harddrives.

You should feel the hdd's vibrating as they spin up to speed. Do they?

You said the old PSU was faulty, it is possible it took out the drives and/or the motherbd also...
Hey there, gotmyjaunt!

I'm sorry to hear about your detection issues with the HDDs. :( I'd recommend you to go to BIOS and make sure that those SATA ports that you've trying to plug the hard drives in are enabled.
If you have access to another computer, I'd also recommend you to plug the drives there and make sure there's nothing wrong with them.
I'd also suggest you to boot the PC with the case opened and make sure that the drives actually spin up, otherwise they might have failed.

Keep us posted.

(Woops! I didn't mean to select that it was solved)

Thanks for taking the time. I have enabled all SATA ports in my BIOS. I don't have another computer to test the drives on. I am pretty sure they are capable because one is brand new and the other is 2 months old. Is it possible my mobo can only recognize SSD and not HDD all of a sudden? I am so confused.

Hey there again, gotmyjaunt!

Unfortunately, I think that there's a very strong possibility that @popatim is right and the PSU could have fried the mechanical hard drive in your system. :( I'd suggest you to try plugging the HDDs in another computer and see if they will pop up there. As soon as you get them detected, you should consider testing them using their manufacturers' brand-specific diagnostic tool to determine the health and SMART status. You can find the utility for your WD drive (Data LifeGuard Diagnostics) on our website here: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=0cfZKG

Hope it helps. Keep us posted with the troubleshooting!
