My system:
Basically if I change the BIOS to run in AHCI mode instead of compatibility (IDE), the system doesn't boot. It just acts as if no drive is found. I've already followed the registry steps mentioned here, but it didn't help. I can see from the boot log that it does load msahci.sys and iastorv.sys.
Also, the reason I installed Win 7 on the SSD in IDE mode was because attempting to do it in AHCI mode wouldn't work. It couldn't find the drivers to do so. Even after getting the drivers from the Lenovo website and pointing to them, it just wouldn't find the SSD in AHCI mode during a fresh install.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
