Can I overclock the amd fx 8320?

I want to overclock to 4.0 GHz without damaging my system, is it possible? Here are my specs.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/LqK3Lk because i have to compile and debug a fairly large program(4,000 lines of objective C) for my thesis, and I would like it done fairly quickly. Oh yeah and my IDE is Microsoft visual studio 2013.

Generally is a broad term, every processor is different (it also depends on the age of your processor- back before the FX 9xxx series the best binned processors were FX 8350, however some FX 8320 were gems in binning too- after the FX 9xxx series it became harder to find well binned FX 8320 and 8350 as the very best were reserved for FX 8370 and FX 9xxx), every motherboard is a little different, depends on RAM, psu, cooling, ect.... With that said I have seen people with the FX 8320 overclock it to 5Ghz. It depends on how good your particular motherboard is, how fast your RAM is, how powerful and consistent your psu is and how you did in the chip lottery (ie how well binned your chip is).

Really you should have zero problems hitting 4Ghz, will probably be able to hit 4.2 - 4.5Ghz on average,the very best binned 8320s can hit 5Ghz with proper cooling.
