Which brand of ram should I choose?

Solution
That memory is fine, but if you want the best option under fifty bucks, I'd go with these G.Skill Ripjaws that have a much lower CAS latency, and will offer slightly faster performance despite being the same clock speed. Most likely, almost certainly, they're built with higher quality chips as well. But those Corsair modules are ok as well if price is the determining factor.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($47.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $47.99
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
