Hello. Yesterday I built my computer and tried installing Windows 7 until midnight. And I couldn't install it due to an error asking for a CD/DVD drive device driver.

I have tried with usb 2 usb drive in a usb 2 port, usb 3 drive in usb 3 port, usb 2 drive in usb 3 port and usb 3 drive in usb 2 port. AHCI enabled. Tried multiple ISOs. No succes

MSI H170 Gaming M3
Intel Core i5 6500
8 Gb HyperX DDR4 RAM
1Tb Seagate Drive

The image is from a google search, but that's exactly what i get. Thanks!

on the usb stick did you use ms iso to usb tool. some times the usb stick will fail if you use ruffus.
if you did use the right tool to make your usb stick the issue is windows 7 is missing the mb chipset drivers for the newer intel mb. what you have to do is if you have room on your usb stick to unzip the intel chipset drivers. the intel mei drivers..the ethernet and sound drivers and then use the f6 advance driver install and have windows 7 install the new inf drivers. if your going from windows 7 to windows 10. the easy way is use the ms media creation tool and an 8g usb stick. make a windows 10 home 64 bit boot usb stick. when you boot the windows 10 installer you can enter your windows 7 code there and you get the free...

@smorizio I used both rufus and the Microsoft usb dvd tool yesterday. I was thinking about the chipset driver from what I've read. But how do i install it. Also, is there any problem if i use the usb 3 drive? I'll try when I get home. Thanks!
