I have decided to purchase the ASUS Maximus VIII Hero and have been doing some research on troubles with certain components compatibility such as heat sinks not fitting well with certain ram sticks. For my heatsink I was looking into the Phanteks PH-TC14PE 140mm UFB CPU cooler and have read about how some high-profile ram sticks cannot fit well underneath the cooler. However, I have also read from a handfull of reviewers end up with a smidge of clearance with high-profile ram sticks.
Another side note is that I am not familiar with ram stick/mobo compatibility. DDR3? DDR4?
SOOOO my question is:
What are some high-end ram sticks that fit well beneath the Phanteks PH-TC14PE and that is compatible with the Maximus VIII? Looking for about either 16-32 gbs of ram.
