I just got the motherboard in yesterday after work.
I started to build my computer on the motherboard box on a table. ok here is the weirdest thing I ever seen.
I install ram, then thermal past and now CPU and heat sink and then the video card. I now then connect my PSU up and everything I put the 6 pin VGA in to the video card. 8 pin and 24 pin now I plug my HDMI TV in to the video card. I then I touch the 2 pins to turn the board on. nothing happens. the CPU and dram is not lit red so that's a good thing. only thing was red was VGA led and boot device means I didn't not connect my SSD up. the board turn on and power was green and everything. but VGA was still red. So I turn off the pc. disconnect the video card. and put it in the sec slot nothing still red. repeat disconnect and put it in the 3rd slot nothing. I made sure that the video card was in perfect. but still showed it was red.
So the next day after getting off the phone with EVGA and asus. they told me to use another one so I did I used a VGA. I turn it on and wow the VGA didn't turn red but listen the cpu led turn red. I looked and found out some of the thermal paste leaked on the side of the CPU tiny bit went on the pcb board. It did not leak in to the pin holes but just on the pcb on the side of the CPU. I'm not sure if that's bad or not. But disconnect and then take the heat/sink off and then the CPU. when I took it off. I cleaned all the paste off it. I know for sure I didn't put a lot I put 3 grain of rice. maybe I put little bit to thick. it only leaked on one side and it was the left. So I re pasted it and this time i use a thin layer of 3 grain rice so after i done that try to see if it will work nope it's still red. So now I'm not sure if my motherboard was dead in the first place or it was my cpu. I am gonna bring in my video card for testing to see if it works. because at the moment I don't trust this board to tell if it works or not.
By the way all the fans do run video card cpu and case funs do run. but sadly no post.
Sorry for the long thread.
Any advice would be thankful
