Will a Dell Precision T3400 motherboard fit in a Dimension 9100 case?

I have a Dell Precision T3400 that suffered some damage to the case. The computer seems to be working fine but I wanted to replace it the case. My brother has a retired Dell Dimension 9100 and from what I can find the two cases are BTX and seem very similar inside. Before I have him ship me the case I was wondering if anyone would know whether the T3400 motherboard (and power supply) will fit. Thanks in advance for any help.

Solution
The motherboard and PSU should fit into another similarly sized Dell BTX case. What you may have to do, is recycle the heatsink and fan shroud from the 9100 case and use with your T3400 motherboard. Dell has several proprietary heatsink/fan/shrouds and not all fit all cases.

Thanks for the information. Is there a potential issue with the heatsink/shroud combination not being compatible with the new motherboard or CPU. Having taken a dell desktop apart long ago I recall the heatsink was fixed to the shroud and when you removed the screws holding it to the motherboard the whole thing comes off as one component. I'll probably have to get the 9100 and compare to find out.

Dell motherboard swaps are very tricky. They cut out the rear I/O area to fit each different board. They used proprietary connectors for the front I/O and changed them occassionaly. Metal tabs stick up under the memory and expansion slots and if they aren't in the same places could cause a short. I bought several motherboards that I though twould swap but never bothered. T3400 has a lot more stuff in the rearI/O area so metal work is likely there. And I can't say about the pinout of the front I/O. How many front USB? How many sound prots? Dell BIOS gets cranky if something changes. The expansion slots are ordered differently so caution is needed there also. I just buy whole Dell computers to get the MB I want.
