Have a Biostar H55 HD... all research says I can upgrade to 1600 RAM from 1333... and the board will take 8 gb... if OC'd

I bought the RAM matching all of the requisite numbers (9-9-9-24). PC works fine with one stick at 4 gb, but freezes at POST with both sticks in...

I have searched for information to OC the BIOS to accept the new RAM, but I have been unsuccessful at finding the right guidance for my specific situation...

I would appreciate any push in the right direction....

Thank you,

Julie

Hi Tradesman,

This is what the store recommended... I gave them all the specs that I could scare up...

Brand ADATA
Series XPG V1
Model AX3U1600W4G9-DB
Type 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM
Capacity 8GB (2 x 4GB)
Speed (MHz) DDR3 1600
Cas Latency 9
Timing 9-9-9-24
Voltage 1.5V
Registered/Unbuffered Unbuffered
Error Checking Non-ECC
Dual Channel Kit

I am replacing the two original sticks (4 Gb) with these two new ones (8Gb)... one-for-one... As mentioned, one stick boots, both just hangs at POST...

If you think 0.6 v will make the difference, I will have a look and let you know...

Thanks again,

JJ
