Ok Guys, First up how's it going? I Have a friend who's about to buy a pc because his old one caved in.. I've learnt that he's going to buy a prebuilt one and i feel the need to inflict harm to this man XD I've talked him into getting a custom one.. He wanted really it turns out he just thinks hes going to instantly smash everything... Basically i have a fir amount oif computer knowledge so cutting to the chase:

I need a few good system suggestions for in and around the $500 Mark. Preferably an AMD setup and a Nvidia set up to compare.. Psu's, ram, everything. You know what to do, this is what you guys are best at haha.. Thanks in advance.

FIRST EDIT - Let's assume he has no OS, Has a monitor And has various accessories (Mice etc). We also need the tower case. I should of been clearer originally!

SECOND EDIT- It Doesn't HAVE to be a gaming PC totally, But it will be heavily used for gaming so it the priority over just raw processing power haha.

You need to answer a few questions before anyone can help.

Does he need just the tower (no display, keyboard, mouse)

Does he need an OS (Windows takes $100 usually and will make the budget $400).


NCIX builds systems to spec and only charges a $50 premium. Something to think about.
