Hi, this is my first post on Tom’s hardware, to be more specific I literary joined here because of this. my pc config is.

CPU: i5 4690k 3.3 Ghz
MoBo: Msi Z97 sli krai edition.
Ram: g.skill 8 gb DDR3 1866 mhz
PSU: thermaltake smart 550w
Cse: thermaltake versa h24
Gpu: zotac nvidia gtx 750 ti
Cpu cooler: arctic pro 7 rev 2.
Storage: segrate 1 tb
Rom: asus dvd rom

I am a budget builder, my budget was $450 and I bought all this on black friday from newegg. it was also my first build. the thing is when I connected everything there was no display, I have no on board internal speaker so I couldn’t here beep sound, there was no built in light on my mobo too. My cpu fan was running, GPU, case fan and DVD rom was also running just there was no display. I again re assembled my pc from the beginning, I also followed all the checklists in the TOMSHARDWARE thread which were said to be done before posting any problem. checked all the connection, changed ram and ram slots. but everything remained same, no display but everything else is running, I checked the power supply too with paper clip, it was not dead. I tried also using the on board video but still the screen is dark . No bios screen or anything, tried to use DVI, VGA all the ports, even checked the monitor, it was all good. Did the CMOS reset, mobo battery reseated everything, still nothing is happening.

Called MSI customer service, they treated my like I made a mistake by buying their product and they didn’t take any responsibility or accepted that their mobo has any problem, they told me that my cpu is bad, now what to do, how’d I know if my mobo is bad or CPU or anything, I changed the ram as I said, even Tried to do with only one stick of ram in different ram position. how to detect that I have faulty mobo or faulty CPU or anything else is creating problem, before buying I tried PCPARTPICKER to see if there are any compatibility issue or not, everything was compatible. Now what to do, it was my first build and I was saving for a long time to built this pc, I am not a tech specialist but I try my best to learn or do things perfectly, badly need your help guys.

Thanks

Solution
One more to check that is the bent pin in the cpu socket, if there is not bent pin and I think most likely it is the MB problem, DOA.
