Will this build suffice for 1080p?

Hi Guys

I'm looking to purchase a Gaming oriented PC around this month, pre-built since I'm not so nifty with the electronics. Now I have found a local supplier for this, but due to budget constraints my pick of hardware is somewhat limited. This will be my first desktop PC, I've been getting by on consoles and laptops, and thus I'd just like some advice concerning the overall build.

NZXT Phantom 410 Mid Tower
Antec 700W 80+ PSU
AMD FX 8370 (8 x 4.3GHz)
Cooler Master Hyper 212X Air Cooler
MSI 970 AM3+ 6Gb/s USB 3.0
HyperX 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz RAM
MSI R9 390 8GB 512bit Overclocked Edition GPU
256GB SSD 500MB/s
1TB WD Blue 7200RPM 64MB HDD
24x DL DVD Writer

I already own a LG 25UM57-P Monitor and don't intend on upgrading it. I'd just like an idea of how you'd rate this build, whether it's worthwhile or not (Specifically for 1080p gaming at the least).

My uncertainty mainly comes in with the CPU, since the various conflicting opinions from fanboys, sorry for the word, muddies the waters. The price at the moment is making me lean more towards the AMD. I'm about 100% sure though that I wouldn't be able to afford the 6th Gen Intels, but I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Firstly, why go for the 212X when you could go for the 212 EVO which is much better and recommended by many as a budget builders' air cooler. Also I would remove the WD Blue and add a Seagate drive for better performance(saying this with personal experience).

Now about the CPU issue. here is a parts list of your current list with AMD cpu: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/x2kfXL , which costs about $976.47
And here's a very affordable budget build where you can get the same performance for a cheaper price: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/ameedmv/saved/#view=KNnD4D which costs about $691.19.

Let me know what you think. :)

Hi Ameed

Sorry for the downvote. Was accidental, how do I reverse it?

Anyway, as I said my options are somewhat limited due to the Supplier of the pre-built PC. The only cheaper Cooler for example is the TX3 EVO. As for the SeaGate. I took advice from a friend that previously had a Seagate instead of WD and it failed on him.

I'm just curious though regarding the GPU. How is it that the 380 with 2Gb VRAM can be on the same par performance wise?

I'm sorry. That was a mistake actually, with the R9 380 ( but it is still a good enough card for 1080p gaming). You can add the R9 390 too but then again you can substitute it for a GTX 970 if that is not a problem for you. As for the cooler I would advice this, the performance of the 212X doesn't work the price that you have to pay for it. Go with the EVO and would be more than enough for that CPU.

Here it is revised. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/TFHWgs

And here it is with the 970 from NVIDIA. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2P9C7P
