Hi,
I've tried to do some researching on how this would work but I did not see anything with my specifications.

Basically I am almost completely redoing my PC. New motherboard, cpu, graphics card, psu and case. Now here is what i'm not sure about and want to be 100% sure before I attempt.

If I put my current HDD which is sata and will fit on my new motherboard, will I be able to maintain all of my current information with no issues? I am currently using windows 10 Pro 64-bit. Also I am switching from AMD motherboard and cpu to intel.

Any information would help, I am not too familiar with the limits of hard drives.

Make backups of your data files (documents, videos, images, etc and give it a try, I haven't done this much with Win 10 - Win 7 is very good with doing it, it will look at the new hardware, load default drivers and then you are up and running, you then want to update the latest mobo drivers and run a registry cleaner - Wise has a good free edition of theirs

Hi there rGent707,

You wonder if your new system will boot up the old installation? I doubt that. I think that you may need to perform a clean install. Yet, you can give it a try. Keep in mind that it is always a good idea to back up your crucial data.
If you attach your old drive as a secondary one, you should have no issues accessing it.

I hope that I got your question.
