Apologies for grammar/formatting errors, long time lurker, first time poster.

I'm looking to run a 144hz monitor with this ROG laptop over displayport. I've searched the graphics card and haven't found much data involving supported refresh rates, so I assume that it should be able to handle 120/144. MiniDP can support 144/120hz too, according to this thread. Of course, the monitor will be able to handle it. My question is if anyone could tell me where I could run into problems with compatibility or performance? Are there any potential bottlenecks?

Many thanks!

Solution
Neither the GPU or the CPU are suitable for driving newer games on a 120 Hz monitor, you need an overclocked CPU and a really strong GPU, two for best results.

Considering the laptop itself supports full HD, I'm sure the gpu can run the same on the monitor. One thing you can try is going into the Nvidia control panel and finding where it talks about the quality for the monitor. It should say there the refresh rate also. Either way, I'm sure the gpu can handle 1080 with at least 60 fps.
