I'v got a ASRock Z97 Extreme9 and try to use the M.2 ultra socket with de Samsung SM951 nvme 512 gb. In the Bios I can't find the Samsung.

I found a list on the ASrock website with units that are supported, and it looks like I'v got a memory type that's a little different from the one thats on the list. My memory card is the MZVPV512HDGL-0000, the one on the website is the MZHPV512HDGL-0000. So the third letter is different, I've got the V instead of the H...

Does anyone know if this is the problem, or am I doing something else wrong? The UEFI has got the latest firmware.

Solution
Problem solved: seems like Windows 8 doesn't support the new NVMe SSD unit, I've installed Windows 10 now and I was able to install Windows 10 on this drive.

So the missing drivers or something in Windows 8 were the problem.

Hi,
I'm Davis from ASRock HQ TSD.

Since NVMe type SSD is new product, the BIOS will not show the information indeed so far.
But the NVMe SSD is able to be used on this model as normal, please feel free to use it.

And in the future, we will modify it with newer BIOS version as soon as possible.

Thanks a lot !!

Hi Davis, thanx for your quick reply. I've installed Windows on the 2nd SSD m.2 drive, to find out if I'll be able to use the ultra M.2 SSD then. But now that I have Windows running, I still can't find the SSD in there either.
One thing I did notice, when in the Bios Boot-section, whithin the boot sequence there is the SM951 SSD listed. So it is installed on the motherboard and found by it. But so far no way I can acces it...

Any idea's on how I can make this SSD visuable in Windows? In the disk management in Windows it is also missing...

thanx, Jan
