Can my laptop run The Sims 3 and all its expansion packs + a bunch of custom content smoothly?

Okay, here's the system perfomance:
CPU: Intel, Core i5 Broadwell, 5200U, 2.20 GHz
Graphics Card: NVIDIA® GeForce® 920M, 2 GB
RAM: DDR3L (2 ram slots) 4 GB, supported up to 8 GB, 1600 MHz
So, is that enough to play the game at medium performance or should I upgrade my ram to 8 GB?

Solution
The game is dated around 2009 and by today's standard of hardware that game ill run as smooth as butter without making your system break into a sweat. If access to an 8GB DDR3L kit(cheap, easy to find+compatible) is easy then I'd suggest that you move onto it now and forget about any upgrades aside from an SSD later down the road.

In a nutshell, yes it'll run Sims 3!
