A while ago my HTC One M7 decided that having full bars was not its thing. SInce then its been dropping out heaps (going to "Emergency Calls Only" and sometimes "No Service") and even when I do have any reception, my mobile data is only E Network and not H Network.

Anybody know whats causing this problem and how to fix it if possible?

Cheers in advance,
GingerGamer

It may a number of different reasons.

First thing would be your provider, but if it´s problem everywhere (where you should expect signal), then it´s likely to be the reception in the mobile itself.

HCT ONE M7 actually has 2 antennas that are in the rubber line design, one in top and bottom. The idea was to have a better reception as the hand holding the phone would be less likely to cover both antennas.

You could (if you are careful) open the phone and see if the antennas have been loosened by chance (not likely).
It could also be water damage. Even rainwater in a pocket can do it.

Finally it could be an update (like power savings feature) so turn off stuff like sleep mode and reboot the cellphone

Im guessing the problem (from what you've said) is water damage. There has been a bit of water getting to the phone especially when in the boat while fishing. If the water damage is the case, what do you reckon I could do to fix it?

if it´s a very recent exposure to water, then take out the battery and put it in a bag of uncooked rice for 2 days. Otherwise you´re looking at buying a new phone. electrical shortcuts already caused by water damage are not repairable.

You´re very welcome.

May I recommend

Samsung Galaxy S6 or if you want a really big screen - Samsung Note 4/5/EDGE
Great mobiles in every aspect.

Smaller screen mobiles : Sony Xperia Z5 compact

For budget mobiles consider : Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo

Joker : Microsoft Lumia 950
