Hello i am am new to the Computer building world and i need a hand in some decisions with a new gpu. i need to keep under about $220 and ive found that the radeon cards are very cheap and seem to be what im looking for, but with a particular card that seemed perfect my current card a gtx 295 xfx (earlier model) seemed to out-preform the Sapphire tech r7 370 4gb by a lot more than you would expect. which card should i go with that can out-preform my gtx 295? that can also stay within the power that my power supply can provide?

heres the link to the r7 370 i found;
http://www.microcenter.com/product/450948/Radeon_NITRO_R7_370_Overclocked_4GB_GDDR5_PCI-e_Dual-X_Video_Card

my build:
amd 6300 processor
gigabyte ga-990fxa-ud3 rev3.0
2x8gb kingston hyperx fury 1866mhz ram
3x250 gb 2.5 inch hhd's
solid gear neutron 650w power supply

Any help would be very appreciated! :D

A gtx 295 would get crushed into oblivion by a 370 in any real world test. I would also recommend the 380 4gb it goes for about $230, I think its a better buy than the 370.

for that budget you could get a 380, at least a 2gb model, maybe a 4gb one. or if you can find one a 280 (3gb)
i would not go with the gtx 295, it is old and doesn't have driver support anymore.

Something must have been seriously wrong if a gtx 295 was outperforming a R9 370.

Im open to any model or brand that can out preform the 295, though i need sli support or crossfire for future upgrades considering i have a large case and a board that can support such, and i need the 4gb of vram, im looking to run the new battlefront and also fallout 4 with decent quality

Microcentre has the R9 380X for only $9 more, worth considering. Its by Sapphire too which is probably the best make for AMD cards
