General Question About Dual CPU Computers

Hi Community

I saw a picture a while ago on a blog with a motherboard with two CPU sockets and I was surprised, I was like can you really have two CPU's in a desktop pc now??

Would this be coming to the mainstream market anytime soon and would it even be worth have ing more than one CPU in a computer anyways?

Regards

Thats for server applications its been around for a long time in fact they make motherboards that can hold 4 cpu's I will link it below. Nobody sensible uses 2 cpu's in a normal desktop computer it would never do anything in normal tasks like gaming or browsing the web, only certain applications can make use of two cpu's at the same time, most games barely make full use of one modern cpu nevermind two.

you could have dual cpus in desktops 16 years ago, it was the thing to do before dual core cpus. Currently only servers use dual cpu motherboards. Though you can find a few oddball (non server) EATX motherboards that sport support for two cpus even today, mostly marketed to people making their own home servers or industrial workstations; and usually build for use with xeon cpus.
