I recently bought a Hyper TX3 Evo for my i5-2500K. I accidentally attached the mounting mechanism in the wrong screw holes and might have bent the push pins a bit while trying to force it in to the socket. I eventually realized what my mistake was and reattached the mounting mechanism properly for LGA1155. It went in fine although I had to push quite a bit to get the pins to lock.
Since then, I've had the same performance, and good temperatures (35-40 idle to 60-70 full load), I live in quite a hot country where the ambient temperature is around 30 degrees so I'm guessing the cooler is working just as intended.
But I heard a kind of motor noise when the heatsink fan is spinning really fast, and when I put my hand on the heatsink I could feel it vibrating. It's not much, it's just slightly more than the vibrations you can feel from a spinning hard drive.
The heatsink is attached well enough that it doesn't move at all when I try to wiggle it around, and I can pick up my entire motherboard by the heatsink.
So is this normal? Is it bad? And can it possibly damage my CPU? I thought about reseating it but I'm scared about potentially damaging the push pins which I already might have damaged and had to struggle to get in.
I'd really appreciate you guys' thoughts on the whole thing. Thanks in advance!
