My laptop has DDR3 RAM already in it, will it support DDR3L ram?

According to your product specification page you will need DDR3L to populate the DIMM slots. When looking for a ram upgrade try and get a matched pair/kit and not a single stick to add-on! They will serve you well until the products lifetime with proper maintenance.
