Trouble booting PC after upgrading Motherboard and CPU

So about 2 weeks ago I installed an Asrock 980de3/us3s motherboard along with an AMD FX 4300 quad core processor. After sorting out my new Windows I started noticing strange problems with booting. The BIOS would boot normally, but after the Windows 8 loading screen, just before the log in Welcome screen, the screen would go black, sometimes a cursor would appear, sometimes I would get flashes of the purple welcome screen, sometimes nothing at all. After that I would reboot several times, getting simillar results for a while. After 4-6 tries I would somehow get my system to boot properly. After that there are no problems whatsoever, I even left the PC running for 3 full days, no problems, freezes, blue screens whatsoever. In the time the PC was left on I was playing games, browsing the internet, same thing as always. No problems whatsoever. I would really appreciate some insight as to what may be causing this increasingly annoying problem. Also, something I failed to mention, for the first boot after upgrading, and several days later, my GPU was not working, the fan would start spinning and then stop after a moment, doing that in loop, the screen was black nothing was appearing. It somehow started working again randomly after a while.

My specs:
AMD FX 4300 3.8 GHz
Asrock 980de3/u3s3
Sapphire Radeon R7 260x 2gb GDDR5
4gb DDR3 1337 dual channel

Yeah it would be awesome if that were the case with me aswell, though I've been having the problems for almost 2 weeks now

Yeah I've already tried that, when I first changed the components I did a fresh install of Windows 8.1, then after about 5 days switched to Windows 10 because I thought the OS was causing the problem. On the other hand if the issue were my hard drive then that would really suck since the one i'm using is quite new, replaced it this summer.

So recently a solution to the boot problem I found is opening up BIOS on the first boot, not changing anything, saving and exiting, after which the PC reboots again and I'm able to boot it normally. However, recently something else started happening, from time to time, whenever I'm either watching a video, playing games the computer randomly freezes for a moment, with a weird BRRRR kind of noise, it only lasts for a split second after that everything returns to normal. I'm thinking it's some kind of problem with my hard drive, even though it's fairly new, got it maybe 5 months ago. Any input?

OK well I've noticed something else, which makes me think that it is indeed the HDD thats causing my problems, every once in a while it makes kind of a click and 'pssssssss' almost like a whistle sound, but everything keeps working normal, though I'm pretty sure a noise like that can't mean anything good...

None of those things worked for me, sorry. Pretty sure my issue is hardware related.

OK so I've been feeling that itch to try to do something, so I went and unplugged everything, plugged it back in along with replacing the SATA data cable and the SATA power cable from the PSU. The PC booted normally on the first boot, and so far I haven't heard any clicks. I will post another update tomorrow. Oh and one more thing, I'm not sure if this matters or not but this time I plugged the SATA data cable into a different SATA port.

UPDATE: It's been about a day now, the freezes and the weird clicking noises have since then stopped, though the booting situation remains the same. Still can't boot normally, so I use the enter bios save exit and boot method I found to be effective.
