I looked at the recommended ram page but the dates seem a little old, I was wondering which RAM was a good solid stick. I have a Z97x gaming 5 which only supports DDR3 I believe
Agree, but can differ greatly, With K model CPUs the best bang for the buck is generally in the 1866-2400 area and can run much higher, higher end non-K Haswells can run (generally) up through 1866-2133, lower end is more the 1333/1600 data rate envelope. Depends on what the OP is looking for
Sorry for the late reply, CPU is an i5-4460 @ 3.2ghz stock. I am unsure if it is unlocked. I won't be able to check until Tuesday unfortunately. I suppose just assume it's not. The MOBO should support basically any DDR3 right? Or will it throttle the RAM to match the CPU?
