I own an HP dc7800p Ultra Slim desktop, here are the current specs:
- 2GB DDR2 Mobile ram
- Intel Core 2 Duo E-6550 (2.4GHz)
- DVD-Rom slim drive
- 80GB 2.5" Hard drive
- X3100 Intel Graphics
Although the computer is older, it works great as a web browsing and schoolwork rig. I would like to get a bigger load out of it, however, and I was wondering what upgrades would be the most worthwhile. I have about $100 I can put aside for this computer and make it better.
My main concern is installing a quad core processor. I read the manual, and the chart of quad core processors is limited to the SFF and CMT Form factors. I do know that the quad processor will fit in the socket, and I can adjust fan speed to avoid overheating, so what do you think?
I would appreciate help from anyone!
