Hi
Is this is in the right place? I didn't see a proper option for this.
I was hoping someone can help me with this recurring problem.
Using Acronis 2014, I have successfully created a .tib image file of my W7 Ult 64-bit OS drive (C), which sits on my D: drive. I wish to copy that to my WD My Book ext. HDD, but can not. I keep getting an I/O error when trying to do the copy:
www.jeffreyhayat.com/acronis.jpg
The .tib has passed a verification check by Acronis. The WD drive is seen by Windows, is available in Disk Mgmt, and I do not have a problem copying other files and folders to and from that WD drive. There is plenty of free space on the drive; the .tib is 182 GB, and Windows reports that there is almost 1TB avail. Also, this happens with all three of my WD drives
I have:
Tried another USB port, but to no avail.
Searched google, and see many people with this I/O error, but was unable to find a solution for this specific problem.
Posted on the Acronis forum, but did not get an appropriate response.
Contacted WD tech support, and they advised me to send the drive back. I can, but can not imagine that a replacement drive is going to help, as the problem is with not only this drive, but my other two.
I can:
Copy the .tib to another internal drive
Use the .tib to successfully perform a backup/restore.
Access the contents of the .tib within Windows
Any ideas here?
Thanks in advance.
