Hi guys, sorry. It I'm new to forums and new to building pc's anyway I started last month with a HP Elite 8300 SFF 8gb ram, 250gb hdd, i5 3470k 3.2ghz processor, and a bog standard amd graphics card all for £100 lol, I then decided I'm gonna try and build a gaming rig from it.

After doing a lot of research I realised I had to get new hardware as HP elites suck a building into, anyway I got a corsair 750w psu and a Nvidia Gtx 760 graphics card from a friend for £70, order myself a new motherboard (Asrock h-61 dgs) and Case (fractal core 1100)

So when I put my coy into my new motherboard I noticed the heatsink would not fit on the motherboard is it screwed onto the case in the HP, so I made a makeshift bracket for the back of my motherboard from the metal parts of the HP, basically just ripped out the metal part around the holes and put them on the other side of the motherboards so I can score my heatsink into place, obviously by changing this the paste has been separated from the CPU and heatsink. I played a game of CSGO and noticed my temperature was going between 59-69 within half an hour, so my question is after that long winded story is...will the high temperature be from not having the paste or can it be from my makeshift bracket not having enough force to hold the heatsink in place? I'm going to napkin tomorrow to have a look at some fans or heatsinks, can anyone recommend something for me to do? Thanks very much and sorry for the long story

Thanks buddy, I think it ended up around 79 degrees at the end of last night, I still don't have paste on it yet so hopefully that'll bring the temperature down a bit
