New CPU/Mobo - now AMD can't detect my graphics card

Hey,

Today I installed a new Gigabyte z97 motherboard, with a new i5 processor. I moved over my old memory, and my old HD 6870 graphics card. It all works, and I can currently see my new desktop (with a fresh Windows 7 install) through the DVI port of my 6870.

The only problem is, Windows thinks my graphics card is a 'Standard VGA Adapter' and AMD's driver software won't install or detect my card - the autodetect says I don't have any AMD hardware in my machine, and Catalyst won't install.

I have seated and reseated the card, disabled onboard graphics, checked the BIOS, uninstalled all existing drivers, reinstalled, tried the DVD that came with the card, tried newly downloaded Catalysts. I am so tired. Can anyone help.

Hey,

I've tried to download every one of AMD's official drivers - Catalyst, Crimson, earlier versions too. Nothing works. They all crash during installation with various errors, probably because they can't detect the GPU for some reason

I've tried those ones too, yeah. Catalyst crashes during installation and declares that an error occurred.
