Will an i5 6600k be better than an i7 930?

Primarily Photoshop and lightroom performance.

My 930 is oc to 3.6 ghz. Will I see any increase with the 5 year newer 6600k at same clock? Or will it be worse since I'll have 4 less threads.

I'll also be going from 24gb of ddr3 to 32gb of ddr4 in this build.

Yes, the CPU will offer an increase, as will the additional DRAM. Plus you'll pick up additional performance increases from the base fact that the 6600K runs off base 2133 DRAM which will offer more bandwidth that your apps will like and even at stock should be capable of running 2400 or 2666 DRAM at least (even more bandwidth). You would also have the ability to run faster drives. Lots of pluses.
