DDR2 does not work

I just bought 2 4 gb memroy sticks and my computer will not boot up with them installed why is this i had a 2 gb ddr2 and i wanted to upgrade it to a a 8 gb .Please help .

He did ask me what i was using as my memory and i said the computer i have has 2gb of ddr2 and i stated that i was trying to install {2x4 gb of ddr2} I do not know what the mother board is as i bought the computer used

What brand and model of both your motherboard and the memory you are trying to use is needed. Pretty straight forward. Without the info, we can't determine if the 2 are compatible with each other.

Look on the motherboard, there should be some info written on it that can help. Or, load CPU-Z and use it to identify the motherboard.

After i saw they did not work i bought some more off of New Egg i think they will work i need to check it .This is what i ordered from there AddOn - Memory Upgrades 8GB (2 x 4GB) ECC Fully Buffered DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Desktop Memory Model A2257179-AM
