What does maximum shared memory means in motherboard

What does "Maximum shared memory of 512 MB" means in ASUS H97M-E motherboard?

Then im planning to use i3-4170 with Graphics Video Max Memory: 1.7GB

*note: I don't have video card yet*

Is this means that I can only use 512MB of i3-4170's Graphics memory(1.7GB)?

Believe that's the max memory initially allocated at boot (so not available during boot, once up and running the iGPU and OS work together and can share up to 1.7 of your system DRAM
