SSD raid 0 on sata 3

Is there any point to doing SSDs on raid 0 if they are plugged into SATA 3? The drives alone do 525 MBs, but if sata3 is capped at 600 MBs im only gaining 75MBs right?

Or will it be 1200 MBs in raid?

If the drives are capable of 525mb's in single mode, raid0 almost doubles it since you can operate each sata port independantly, so a little over 1000MB/s

Not that most users will ever benefit from these speeds. Manufacturers like to emphasize these benchmarks but for home uses they are not a factor in what makes your system speedy. Home users mostly operate in 4k mode and thats the benchmark you should be looking at unless you have a specific need for high sequential rates, like editinig videos.

Raid0 does have a slight effect for home users, it slows them down a little. Have a read:
