When you're looking at this, the biggest thing is this: do the programs you run require or run better, with more than 2 cores? If they require or run better(are optimized for) on 4 cores, then skip the 3258. I have one in a backup system, they're alot of fun to tinker with, and if you get a good overclock, they can run programs pretty good, so long as you don't need a 4 core chip. A well overclocked 3258 can run rings around any and all AMD cpus in single and dual threaded programs. Doesn't matter how highly clocked your AMD cpu is. Answer the threading question, and that will answer the whole question you asked.
P.S. I don't know how many threads CS:Go can use. I do know that a 970 will bottleneck on a 3258 in highly threaded programs.
