Windows 7/32 bit to Windows 10 32/64?

Hi everyone, my friend has a problem with his computer where he has windows 7/32 bit. And he cannot get 64 bit because he doesn't have the money atm. If he was to do the free windows 10 download would he automatically upgrade to 32or64? bit

Windows upgrade for free will only up grade what you have so if you have 32 bit it will give you 32 bit windows upgrade and the same for 64 bit but it won't upgrade 32 bit to 64 bit windows. A clean install of windows will be needed to go from 32 bit to 64 bit windows.
