Hello Guys,

I am looking for a good gaming rig including a keyboard and monitor at the price range of $2000 (If you can include a xbox controller for pc too) .
I am hoping to game at ultra settings at 1080p or 1440p. The keyboard or monitor don't have to be top notch. Try to make it last for a couple of years.
This is what I am thinking of getting: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/GZrqCJ

No no no no no no no no. $2100 budget and nearly $600 of it is spent on a ridiculously expensive monitor that you don't need. Plus you also have a locked processor and that's a definite no on that budget. A 1KW for a single 390X and a micro ATX motherboard? Are you serious? On this budget if you're not overclocking you're doing it wrong.

OK with that out of the way here's what you should do:

This is what I thought of for you: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/XGDQmG

Better CPU, better RAM, better PSU, better motherboard, better storage and a single GPU (opposed to 2 GPUs).

I know that 2 980's will be more powerful but I need to ask you a few questions to help you with your build. Please answer them in order:
1) Do you want a 60hz or 144hz monitor? LN or IPS?
2) 1080p? 1440p? 4K?
3) Future upgrades?
4) Any rendering or is it just for gaming?
5) Do you want an SSD? I recommend you get one.

So should I just get a $100 monitor 1080p?

Don't. You still get a lot of power. At $130 you can get this nice looking 60hz IPS display (don't listen to the other dude): http://pcpartpicker.com/part/acer-monitor-r240hybidx

To play 1080p games at max, you don't need more than GTX 970 and an i5.

If you grab a 1440p monitor or 1080p 144hz monitor then you should be looking at 980 or 980 Ti (you can still use an i5 as i7 doesn't give much benefit in gaming)

Then add whatever monitor, keyboard and mouse you want. I don't suggest these things because a lot of that is personal preference.

Absolutely. The availability of the i7-6700K is very sketchy at best right now and X99 will allow you to run 3-way or 4-way if you go with a EATX motherboard. Plus you also get M2 support and I would highly suggest a 250GB Samsung 950 Pro if you're expanding your budget.
