Hey guys. I'm a little new here, although I have posted on here once before. I've had a decent mid-range PC for years now, however I'm looking to get into high end gaming. Would like to play modern titles on 4k Ultra settings with smooth frame rates. I'm very inexperienced when it comes
to high end PC gaming. So all the help would be highly appreciated. So anyway, here are my
specs:

Model: ASUS desktop PC CM1740
Processor: AMD A8-3800 APU with Radeon (tm) HD graphics 2.40GHz
Ram: 8.00 GB
System: 64-bit

So I've been researching a few things to buy and came across these upgrades:

GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 960 02G-P4-2966-KR 2GB SSC GAMING w/ACX 2.0+, Whisper Silent Cooling Graphics Card

Power Supply: EVGA 600 B1 80+ BRONZE, 600W Continuous Power, 3 Year Warranty Power Supply 100-B1-0600-KR

And...

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Cooler Master MegaFlow 200 - Sleeve Bearing 200mm Silent Fan for Computer Cases (Black)

Now... I'm assuming I'll need a higher end CPU like a Core i7 right? Or is this not needed because of the higher end GPU card? Also, will the GTX 960 and power supply fit in the case?
Do I need more Ram to run for example: GTA V? Or would 8 GB be fine? Will the graphics card even work with the specs I have now? Would I be able to run it on Ultra just fine with smooth 40-60 fps, with help from the fans as well? Would I need a good cpu cooler to go along? Thanks.

This will be a perfect upgrade to my CPU, right? http://www.amazon.com/AMD-FX-8370-Edition-Processor-FD8370FRHKBOX/dp/B00MUTWELC

Cheaper than an Intel i5, but it'll go perfect for my motherboard considering the CPU in my system already is AMD. Correct?

Would I need a cpu cooler for the new AMD cpu upgrade?

4k ultra requires an 1800-2000 system.

the cpu won't fit. a8 are FM sockets, and FX8xxx are AM sockets.

by the way give up on the 4k "SMOOTH GAMING DREAM". we're 2 years away from that to be actually viable without breaking your bank. 4k "60fps" requires 3x gtx980ti/FuryX.

although i would like to report that 4k on old titles are quite nice. (titan quest, xcom, masseffect, etc).

som != witcher 3. pales in comparison graphically speaking.

to the op. gta5 allows more features to be enabled the more vram is available.but that will not translate to faster fps. ryse son of rome will hide the very high settings as well unless you have 3gb of vram. but the paradox here is that the extra vram will not, as i said earlier, translate to more fps most of the time. im using a 2gb 960 and im not maxing out games @1080p.
