I'm about to upgrade my processor from a AMD FX 4130 QUAD-CORE 3.80 GHz to an AMD FX-6300.
My motherboard is an GA-78LMT-USB3.


Should I update my bios before installing the new cpu or will it work without the bios update?

According to gigabyte's website, they say that you need a BIOS update for AM3+ FX-series processors to work.

So you do have to update your BIOS.
