Looking for amazing music production build

Hi folks, right now I am looking for builds of any kind, the catch is it will ONLY be used for the production of music and sampling\editing music.

I am looking for a. Extremely cheap and very efficent barebones build, I only need core components. No gpu.

I prefer amd, but I would love to see what other builds everyone comes up with

That's tough because it depends on what interfaces you need for the audio side.

Do you want a PCIe USB card, an Audioregen USB interface, a USB DAC, etc... Just the audio side can be more expensive than the computer itself.

Also what software are you going to run? Protools, fruityloops, etc...

8GB of RAM is plenty for Protools unless you get into the HD and video engine stuff then 16GB+ is recommended. Also Intel has more horsepower and is better than AMD for audio editing.

Also depending on how many devices you install such as a PCIe mixer, USB card for latency, Firewire, thunderbird, etc... you may need a larger case or an ATX motherboard with more slots. But overall a bare bones system will do the trick with 8GB of RAM...

But overall a bare bones system will do the trick with 8GB of RAM, but for speed you want tp put more money into the Intel I5 or I7 CPU. Also an SSD is not required for audio, it's just too small. When it comes to recording audio you need capacity so any old hard drive will work.
