first off i want to know if this is common for a hard drive to do: http://puu.sh/lTDL9/625cbaf8a1.png for some reaosn it made a different hard drive letter just for the os and i had to make a whole new letter to be able to use the other 800 gigs i had on my one tb hdd and i feel like its cluttering, also when i search for stuff i have to look at the d drive and if it isnt there i have to go look into the g drive instead of all my files being in one big space like my old hard drive: http://puu.sh/lTDSZ/2ecb80926e.png where it has the os installed along with everything else i need.

would i need to format my one tb to delete everything(since i backed everything up so now its alright if i delete everything) and create it as simple volume first before reinstalling windows 8? because the first time i did it i didnt do the whole right click and simple volume step so i feel like thats probably why it made 2 letters. or is there an option to murge them together? which i probably wont do right now but if it happens again once i install the new os then i might go for that.

I would start from fresh, Make sure you have a backup of the data and reinstall Windows 8.

When installing delete all the partitions and just create one large one.
