Ok, so have some pc knowledge as I've replaced and upgraded many 'box store' name brand pc's trying to upgrade them into decent gaming rigs (I know LeL). I then decided the next time I'm to upgrade (which is now), I'm going to invest in a custom build. So here is the system layout.-

I went with this whole setup except i changed the power supply to an=
Antec HCG M 850W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply.

So here's my issue.
This PSU is semi modular and comes with an integrated 2x4pin rail (as well as the main integrated 24 pin). But the PSU also includes a labeled 'CPU' 8pin as a modular cable option. I wasn't entirely sure what one to use on the mobo's EPU socket. I currently have the 2x4pin hooked up because (if I'm remembering right) I thought that was the right way. Before i dare flip that power switch though(on the most money I've ever dropped on a pc), I wanted to check with some pros first. And if i do have this hooked up right, why the **** is there a 8pin molex labeled 'CPU'? Just to mess with the N00|3z? :)

A 2nd issue.
If i could get a little insight as to what Sata plugs should be hooked from my SSD, HDD, DVD & Bluray Disc drives, into the AMD serial ATA 6/gb connectors and AS Media serial 6/gb connectors, that would also help immensely. I currently have all 4 hooked into the serial AMD serial (SSD is in Sata1, and HDD is in Sata2), as i remember something about using those up first.

And Lastly.
There are panel and usb labeled connectors that take the case pins, and then in turn plug onto the corresponding mobo pins/ports. I'm wondering if i need to use these labeled pins from the M5A99FX package for the panel & usb? Or can I just connect them right from the case onto the mobo pins? Basically I'm asking if these connectors serve a purpose aside from just labeling.

Anyways, thanks so much for any help guys.
Signed,
~Intermediate Noob :)

1st issue: the integrated cable is just fine. Some boards require 2 CPU connectors, for OC-ing, therefore the second CPU cable available.
2nd: It's ok to have them connected to the AMD controller.
3rd: I guess you're talking about the Q-Connector. https://www.techenclave.com/community/attachments/q-connector-jpg.15520/
If yes, you don't have to use it. You can directly connect the front panel wires to the motherboard.

Yeah Alex, those Q-Connectors were what i was trying to describe, and thanks much for the reply.
I did a little digging on the PSU though and found that its best to connect the CPU with the 8pin connector (Hope that's right), and the modular 'cpu' cable seems to reach up and around to the EPU port a little better anyways so i went that rout (I just hide the 2x4pin in back panel). So all hardware is up and running smooth now. On to software junk. If you don't mind I'll lay a few more questions on ya.

1. I'd like an opinion on if I should I upgrade my new Win7 64bit OS to the free Win10? I hear it utilizes all cores better and will have a better DX for gaming. But some say the new browser is trash, and has a host of security/privacy issues. Ultimately I know this will come down to preference though. But maybe you can clear some of that up for me?

2. If I remember right, I update the OS till no longer available, and then install drivers from discs? Or should I download the most current drivers from the internet? It seems I always have driver issues after I install a new GPU from a disc. But on the other hand, I hate scouring for new drivers and then having to wait for d-loads. I hope one day all we'll have to do is let windows auto search hardware then download and install all drivers for us :D. Also, as this is my first time using an SSD, will i need to install the disc that came with it, or will windows automatically handle that?

Thanks again for any and all your help.

You're welcome. Regarding Windows, it's up to you. I can't help you more than Google in this matter.
As for drivers, I prefer installing them from manufacturers websites (like Realtek, Intel...). On the other hand, I've never had issues also when installed them from disc.
I hope it helps.
