Greetings everyone,

I have some problems while running games and I can't really figure out the cause. I bought my current PC (AMD FX-6350 Hexacore 3,9 Ghz, 8GB RAM, AMD R9 270 2GB 256 bit, 1TB Toshiba HDD, SL 700-A 700W PSU and the motherboard is an Asrock 960GM-VGS3 FX) in November 2014 and since August, I have a problem with it. The gaming performance has dropped.

1. For example, TERA (MMORPG). First problem was that the game started running fine and it would slowly drop its FPS until the game would be unplayable. Later, another problem occured. Before this, when logging on my characters, the texture would load instantly and I could play right away without any problems. Now, when I log in, the texture takes a few seconds to load and if i try to move my character in the first 30 seconds, the game moves with like 5-15 FPS. Only after 30 seconds pass, the game because smoother. The problem is that each time I go to a new place where new texture/monsters are loaded, the same thing happens. It really makes the game unplayable.

2. Then there are the Hyperdimension Neptunia games, where the FPS is generally bad in the 1st and 3rd game (there are currently 3 games in this series for PC) and in the 2nd game, the FPS slowly drops until it becomes unplayable.

Other games like Guild Wars 2 and Alien Isolation work relatively well, but there's still a difference compared to how well they ran before.

Yeah, I know what you're gonna say : It's the graphic card. I thought the same. The thing is that I took the PC back to the service, telling them that there's a graphic card problem. After 2 weeks (meaning today), I got it back and my graphic card was replaced with a brand new shiny R9 380 4GB 256 bits...the thing is...THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE!!!!

What could be the cause of the problem? Any idea? Even if I take it back, last time I told the guys from the repair service that it could be the video card, but this time I have no idea what to tell them...

sounds like either the cpu is overheating, you have bad ram, or your hard drive is going bad

use msi afterburner to monitor temps of the cpu and gpu, you can turn this on in the OSD

play a game for a while, post back max temps

run memtest86

run the manufacturer's HDD health tool

I used HwMonitor, Speedfan and Msi Afterburner, CPU temp is around 50-56 degrees when playing the usual games,Gpu temperature is around 60-63 in intensive games.

What I tried so far : using only one Ram (the pc has 2 x 4Gb,tested each one), tested the HDD for errors using the western digital tool (it's a toshiba, but the WD tool works on it), reinstalled different versions of the gpu driver and now i also have a new graphic card (r9 380,they replaced the old one with this one at the service). CPU is usually between 20-30% usage and benchmarks give me the normal score that this cpu should have..so throttling is out of the question i think. Tested removing and re-adding the Virtual Memory (just in case).

Last night I decided to test the PC with another HDD. Reinstalled Windows and installed the graphic driver. I went to work and left TERA launcher to download and install the game. I'm gonna test it when I go back tonight. If this won't work, then I'm out of ideas....
