Ok so i have bought Cooler master hyper 212 evo, I have amd phenom 965 black edition. And i want to overclock mine cpu to 4.0 Ghz, So i have rise multyplayer and votlage to 1.475 and mine temps are In idle 36c, In prime 95 when i run it after 1-2 mins i have around 51c, and the problem is i cant run it more then 1-2 min. I got BSOD :/ where did i do it wrong?, + i have downclock mine ram from 1600 to 1333.

Solution
Try staying 1,5 or less even if temps are good.
I start OCing by setting anything Auto to Manual but with nominal values as it was when on auto. Disable all power saving features and let fans rip full speed. Than raise multiplier up a notch at the time until it starts making troubles, ad a bit of voltage until it stabilizes than go to multiplier again. etc, etc, until it won't go no more and than go one notch lower for stability at long run.
Btw. do you have latest BIOS version ?

Sec i will take screen shot and poste so u can tell me what to turn off i dont want to dmg something. Anyway can i bring back mine ram to 1600? or just leave it 1333?

AMD C1 Support = off
AMD K8 Cool & Quiet control = off
Also all the voltage controls to manual but except for VID leave as it was on Auto and add more as necessary.
Depending on which RAM it is, it may need more than 1.5v for 1600MHz. My Kingston HyperX needed 1.65v.

Well I tried all that, voltage from 1.450 to even 1.550 and when I run prime 95 after few sec bsod, temps in idle are 38c on 4.0 ghz and voltage of 1.550 in prime they jump to 51 and 10 sec later bsod. I have tested even on 3.8. Maybe I just have bad chip ?

So it's not Black edition chip ? Can't seem to find CPU-Z pictures but I'm pretty sure it was marked BE on it.
At AMD when they test chips they assign stepping on it depending how good it tested at certain frequencies and voltages. 3 worst, 0 best. Any higher than 3 and they lock multiplier and can't be black edition.
