I have Geil ram DDR3 but I have lots of problems with it. I have 2 sticks of ram(2x4gb). I installed Windows 8.1 4 months ago. I have had lots of memory management errors and it showed that I have 8 gb ram and only 3.98 gb usable. I had the 64bit version. After that I installed Linux. Everything was the same. There were same errors and e.t.c. The version was 64bit Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. Now I am on windows 10 and I have the same problems. It is so complicated. Bios shows that I have 8 gb ram. My computer usually crashes after 20 min of use. But yesterday it didn`t crash so I opened my computer properties and I saw that I have only 3.98 gb usable. I changed ram slots and then it started to crash again. I am using the 64bit os.
Any idea how to fix this?
P.S: I tried to boot with each ram on each slot. The computer booted normally. So it isn`t faulty ram.
