Hello everyone, I don't have a fancy set up but i'm looking for a good, cheap, Graphics card for my computer. Really all I want right now is to be able to play minecraft well, also to do a little bit of streaming on youtube, For the GPU i'm looking at either the

Diamond Multimedia ATI AMD Radeon HD 5450 PCI Express GDDR3 1GB Video Graphics Card or

ViewMax NVIDIA GeForce GT 620 2GB GDDR3 PCI Express (PCIe) DVI Video Card HDMI & HDCP Support * COMMANDER EDITION *.

I need your guys help with picking one or if you know another one compatibly with my MB and around the same price. I'm trying to stay under $60. Like I said I don't think I need a really fancy GPU to be able to run Minecraft but I want to be able to run it well. Also any other tips, tricks, info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all your help guys.

Any Pci e card will fit in your system but anything to new will bottleneck your system for sure but since you didn't give a detail of your system I cannot fully answer your questions... I would do a google search and see what the min and max requirements are for the games you wish to play then go from there.

For the processor I have a AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 250 3.00 GHz, for ram I have 4.00GB ( 2.94 GB usable) and a Hitachi SSD I'm not sure of GB. I was reading about the GPU I wanted and it says its about a couple years old so I think it'll be fine for my computer. Thank you for your help.

I may be a little late, but here are my thoughts. The motherboard is quite versatile for an older system. One of my family members still runs the rig I built for them to this day. A few upgrades on power supply, GPU, SSD, and memory and it still playing games with good frame rates at 1080p.

Your GPU upgrade will depend most upon your existing power supply. If you have at least a 350 Watt PSU, go with either a new nVidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti... ensure it doesn't require a 6-pin PCI-E hookup, or an AMD 7750. Both cards are powered by the PCI-E slot alone. Depending upon Power Supply, if you have at least 500W, you might try something stronger. I would recommend an upgrade via eBay to a GeForce GTX 560 or AMD 6870 for a new GPU if they are planning on gaming at all. You can find several midrange cards used for under $70 with buy it now options. Otherwise bid on one.

As for CPU, I have a family member whose machine I built operating an AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition. You can find these for a steal on the Web. You get a nice quad core processor operating at a stock speed of 3.2ghz that is overclockable to a significant degree depending on cooling solution. It blows the old Athlon X2 away!
