My son asked if I could improve the performance of his PC, I've been out of the PC building racket for a while and was wondering what components would increase his bang for my buck. I recently updated his power supply and video card (birthday) so I'd rather not replace those. I'm not opposed to a new motherboard, cpu (if needed) and faster memory. An SSD is definite, however I realize this just speeds up the os and probably has little effect on Gaming performance. He's a big FPS fan so with that in mind here are his systems current specs...
ASUS CM6431
replaced GTX 650 1 GB with a Gigabyte AMD R9 380 256 Bit GDDR5 4GB
replaced the stock 350 watt power supply with EVGA 500 W1 80+
Windows 7 HP 64 bit
Chipset intel H6
CPU Intel Core i5 3450 (3.10 GHz)
Memory 8GB DDR3 1333
